Oramedia In February 2024, was privileged to cover the annual collaborative initiative between Farmers Helping Farmers (FHF), a Canadian organization, and Bimeda Kenya which unfolded in Meru, Kenya. This partnership involved volunteer farm visits and farmer training sessions, supported by Bimeda Kenya & led by Professor John Vanleeuwen from the University of Prince Edward Island (UPEI). Comprising key figures such as Dr. Maurice Msanya, Dr. Oscar Were, Joseph Njoroge, and Mercy Kendi, Our team showcased how the Bimeda team together with the Dairy vet team played a pivotal role in administering dewormers to over 700 cattle and conducting health checks on more than 100 animals from 13 farms across Ntugi, Ngusishi, and Kiirua during the four-day program. On non-clinic days, the veterinary team visited farms and conducted farmer trainings addressing health issues and disseminating valuable management information, reaching a remarkable 390 farmers and setting a new record.
